New Seven Point Plan To Revive Sock’s Career

Sock has won just five matches all year. He has lost to Escobedo, Opelka, Fritz twice, Marterer, Gojo, Sugita, F Lopez, Coric, Cuevas, Kohlschreiber, Zopp and now Medvedev today in London. 5-12 in 2018.

Six months ago he was top ten in the world, today he’s 14 but well outside 100 in the Race.

Sock has gone from the cusp of superstardom to mediocrity in a matter of months.

There must be a solution to help Sock regain his lost aura, lost confidence and lost winning touch.

Here is a seven-point plan to revive Sock’s flagging career…

1. Cease and desist all communications with Nick Kyrgios.

2. Eschew all ATP four star hotels and luxury comforts and instead stay only at flea bag motels until Sock wins a title in singles.

3. Spend two hours minimum in the gym every other day.

4. Each time Sock tries a trick shot or tweener in practice or in a live match, whether the shot is successful or not, he will be tazed by a tazer gun immediately after the clown shot was attempted.

5. Adhere to a new nuts and bolts nutrition plan: Breakfast – two hard boiled eggs. Lunch – large green salad with either tuna, chicken or tofu as protein. Dinner – same as lunch. Snacks – only fruits or nuts permitted.

6. Before every match played, must yell as loud as vocal chords will permit, COME ON!!! while entering the court and yell it before and after every single point of every singles match.

7. After losing a match to any player ranked outside the top 50 Sock has to walk off the court singing the song “Volare.”

Can you think of three more points to make this a ten point plan?

    8.Lose weight and go vegan

    9.Hire Hewitt as his coach

    10. Lose the Girlfriend

Ok, I had to laugh at #4. Ryan, #10 doesn’t apply – he and the girlfriend are no longer and it must have been a bitter breakup because they both wiped their social media accounts clean of any pictures of each other.

One of the 10-point plans should be to hire Johnny Mac as his coach. That will end Sock’s trick shots, laissez faire attitude and mediocrity.

I predict Sock will win the Atlanta Open and all will be well in his world.

It should be curtains for Sock soon.

Shapo is at No. 23, Rublev is at No. 32, Coric is at No. 34 and now Tsitsipas is a career-high No. 35. Khachanov is No. 36. Sascha and Chung have already established themselves as big-time.

These young guys are coming and clowns like Sock and Kyrgios better watch their backs.

Dan, I think Sock has the intensity but he tries to disguise it. He feels the pressure and by playing clowning tennis it relieves the pressure, in his mind. He can be ultra serious and tenacious in doubles and singles sometimes. But he has those lapses of trying to be cool. The Sock formula is not working now, it has to be revised. Agassi did it. Maybe Sock should hire Agassi.

Young loses to the Kubler elf in first round of challenger..

That whole doubles success translating to singles, isn’t really taking..Sock, Young and Harry have has good results in dubs, failing miserably in singles

  • Scoop Malinowski · June 19, 2018 at 10:56 am

Joe, Young is now losing regularly to sub journeymen and Challenger level players. Young is going to have to make some major changes to his team and his approach.

  • Duke Carnoustie · June 19, 2018 at 1:32 pm

Young must fire his mom, hire Kamau Murray, dump the black panther gf and apologize to Harry

  • Duke Carnoustie · June 19, 2018 at 2:22 pm

How about Coric winning 11 of the first 13 games and routing Sasha? He is in top form, borna

A special ‘tanks’ to Gasquet. After winning in Hertogenbosch last week, he is drubbed 2 and 2 to florian Mayer, who entered with a 1-10 tour mark. Tanks Richard!

Think they said Gasquet’s back was acting up. Mayer owns him on grass..has knocked Gasquet out of Wimby

There was a changeover during the Kyrgios-Murray match that Nick was saying out loud “it gets worse with every point”. The announcers were wondering if he was talking about his elbow.

I have to say, it was really surprising to see Murray back in good form. I thought for the most part he would fail to regain form and his career was essentially over. Things could get very interesting for Wimby and the US Open with Djokovic and Murray back playing good tennis.

Kyrgios was doing his clown act with the trick shots and tweeners, and the acting up like he’s too hurt to play and then he wins the match. Nick is a big talent but also he’s a clever player who knows how to create smoke and mirrors to distract. He is an interesting character to watch that’s for sure.

Is that Kyrigos sitting in the Tiafoe box?

  • Chazz · June 20, 2018 at 9:10 am

Great win for Tiafoe over Mayer, who is a really tough top 40 opponent. This moves Tiafoe ahead of Donaldson, Sandgren and Harrison and into the top 50. His serve was the best I have ever seen it, giving him a bunch of free points.

Next up is a very winnable match against either Chardy or Medvedev.

I’m no spring chicken, but do you have to be 80 years old to get to watch tennis at Queens Club?
    Thank G-d no kiss cam…

  • Scoop Malinowski · June 20, 2018 at 9:40 am

Kyrgios likes Tiafoe, he has said nice things about him.

  • Duke Carnoustie · June 20, 2018 at 2:47 pm

Kyrgios loves the Americans because A – he only speaks English and B – he loves talking about NBA basketball.

Let’s hope Tiafoe doesn’t turn into an underachiever by association.

  • Scoop Malinowski · June 20, 2018 at 5:13 pm

Duke, Nick does have a lot of influence on younger players because he’s an iconic player himself, we will see if he influences more younger players to follow his clowning slacker image.
