Tennis Inspirations: "My hero is Pete Sampras. I was so thrilled because I play San Jose and Pete Sampras made an exhibition. So I ask him to speak with him and I take a picture with him. I see him and I can speak with him. It was a very good moment for me."
First Tennis Memory: "I think when I play my first tournament, I was so happy because when I take the trophy it was my first one. I keep this and this is always in my room. I was so happy (age 7)."

Jamie Hampton reminds me of a righty Marcelo Rios. Is anyone watching her vs. Azarenka right now? Her strokes off both wings look like Rios, the bounce in her step, the smooth movement, the pony tail and the slight Asian features, her demeanor between points.

Roger Federer has opted for a change of fashion on the court. Pale grey top trimmed in pink. And then, bright pink shoes to top it off. And so it seems his new found fashion taste is suiting the Swiss master well. Blitzing his Russian opponent, Nikolay Davydenko in three straight sets last night, 6-3, 6-4, 6-4, the 2010 Australian Open champion looked cool, stylish and relaxed.

Dominant former USC star Steve Johnson impressed in defeat, he put a massive scare into #10 seed Almagro, saving match points, one with a winner that tagged the baseline corner lines. Played a USTA tournament this weekend in Tampa at Arbor Green. As the #1 seed I got a bye and a SF win over a heavyset hard hitter from Orlando Isleworth, who says he plays a lot with Bill Donadio, half of one of the best age group doubles teams in the nation with Richard Schmidt. But this guy had to play a first match before our's and he was a bit tired and slow.
