    To Russell Jones,

Rafa has fewer holes in his resume than any other player. You claim the WTF is a hole. In reality it is the least important criteria. It’s not a GS title and has only been in existance since the 1970s. Fed’s lack of Davis Cup and Olympics then can be used against him. BTW Rod Laver never won the WTF title either; I bet you didn’t know that! I think Rafa can live without the WTF. I bet Fed would give up all his WTF for another RG or Olympic gold in singles, wouldn’t he?! I doubt Rafa would give up anything in his current collection for the WTF. BTW, Rafa made a final of the WTF.

Also since when is getting to all 4 majors in a year a criteria? Winning majors is what counts, and only Fed and Nadal have a right to the GOAT title. Pete Sampras is out of the running because of a lack of RG; a really big hole in his resume. Rafa winning 3 majors on 3 surfaces in a single season trumps anything Djoker will do, and more than makes up for the lack of getting to all 4 finals in a year. In fact no player in history has ever done the 3 surface wins.

The homogenization of surfaces is always mentioned to discredit Rafa, but notice it never gets mentioned when Fed or Djoker or Murray win on the same exact surfaces! You probably don’t even realize that in reality, Fed and Djoker are clay court specialists too.

    Gusta

I give Bouchard a good shot at beating Serena. She’s got the game, the mentality to slay the dragon, she’s not going to defer to Serena. She can power Serena off the court and exploit her movement. Good match.

How about that brutal time violation call on Uytvanck at 54 30-all vs. Cibulkova, taking away the first serve of the Belgian and forcing her to do a second serve which Cibulkova promptly smacked deep in the court and Uytvanck hit out. That was a terrible call against the youngster, the umpire has to give her some extra time, she’s in the biggest moment of her career, Wimbledon vs. a major finalist. And the chair ump takes away her first serve. Brutal call.
