Incredibly Bad On Court Behavior

In three decades of being around pro tennis, some shocking stories have entered my ears, which contrast some of the unforgettable displays of good sportsmanship we have seen in recent years…

A former world no. 1 was practicing and he said to a fan who annoyed him, after spitting on the court, “pick that up for me boy.”

Another semi-retired hot head former world no. 1 was practicing with Ken Rosewall in Las Vegas and though he lost a tough practice set, he was in no mood for a patronizing compliment about a good effort despite not winning, said to his fan: “F*** you.”

A very temperamental still active and top 50 Russian female player insulting in Russian an overweight WTA chair umpire about her sex life.

A former world no. 1 from Chile urinating on a practice court net post in full view of about 25 onlookers.

One of the greatest doubles player of all time, from America, spit on an opponent during the net handshake after a combative NCAA match.

A former world no. 1 icon from USA repeatedly screaming F YOU! to the chair umpire, though muffled by a towel over his mouth, in an ATP match vs Jim Courier. But TV microphones located near the changeover chairs picked up the bad language clearly.

A former all time icon from American threatening bodily harm and murder of an Asian lineswoman who called a foot fault on her during the US Open.

Wow, Scoop, I bet nobody has any idea who you’re referring to here. 😏

Sam, fascinating how the media just erased that from tennis history, Serena sure does have special privileges and protection from the media.

Scoop, speaking of “tennis history,” that’s what that dude is now, thankfully. 😆
