Zverev Smear Campaign?

There seems to be a smear campaign being executed against Alexander Zverev again.

At the Australian Open, a tennis “journalist” is asking ATP and WTA players to comment on the domestic violence lawsuit that the German star is involved in with the baby momma of his child.

Iga Swiatek said: ‘It’s not right when a player (Zverev) who is facing charges like that is promoted…”

But what if he’s innocent, Iga? Innocent till proven guilty, no?

Tennys Sandgren, who is not playing in the Grand Slam he twice reached the QF in, today said: “The players are just freelancers/contractors… journalists need to point their questions at the ATP.”

Question: “Can I ask about the trial in Germany? Do you think it’s appropriate to continue on the ATP players council while that case is underway?”

Zverev: “Why would it not be?”

Q: “Well, there’s obviously a question mark about your judgment, and the court will decide.”

Zverev: “There isn’t.”

Q: “You have the confidence of your fellow players to continue in that role?”

Zverev: “Yeah, I think so. I mean, I think so. Nobody has said anything to me. I don’t have a reason not to believe that.”

Q: “There are some people around saying you shouldn’t be playing at all, let alone be in a leadership position. What are your thoughts about that?”

Zverev: “Like who? Journalists are saying that, some, who are actually interested more in this story to write about and more about the clicks than the actual truth.”

This is the second time Zverev has faced legal trouble about domestic violence allegations. The first was some low ranked female player named Sharipova, who never called the police to file a report, instead later contacting a journalist to tell her dubious story. After a year, Zverev was cleared of the charges.

And now this woman Patea, the mother of Zverev’s child, is taking Zverev to court about alleged domestic violence.

The timing of these cases is curious. Both have happened after Zverev fired Team 8 as his manager.

It seems plausible there may be some kind of tennis deep state orchestrated smear campaign in play against the reigning Olympic gold medalist. Or perhaps, dark forces are fabricating these charges and blowing them out of proportion in order to generate publicity and promotion for the tournament. Today, Zverev is trending. Everybody is talking about it, even more than the feel good stories of Sumit Nagal, Thanassi Kokkinakis, Brenda Fruhvirtova and Mirra Andreeva.

At last year’s US Open, a climate protester glued himself to a seat, which generated enormous publicity. Also there was another incident regarding a Hitler nut in Ashe Stadium, whose identity was never revealed.

“There’s no such thing as bad publicity” is the old saying. Who knows for sure if these recent controversy incidents are organic, or manufactured publicity stunts? Who knows if it all will derail Zverev’s chances of winning his first Grand Slam title, as was predicted last week by Tennis Channel analyst Coco Vandeweghe.

It’s also very possible the tennis deep state could be manufacturing Zverev into a counterfeit villain for promotional purposes. As there actually are no other villains right now in the atp or wta.

Sloane Stephens was asked about Zverev, says WTA probably wouldn’t be electing someone facing a criminal trial to their player’s council

“As a former players council member, can I ask what you think about the men’s tour recently electing to their players council someone who is facing a criminal trial and some pretty serious allegations?”

Sloane: “I think that the ATP kind of beats their own drum. Yeah, they do what they do on that side.
Would that happen on the WTA Tour? Probably not. Again, he’s going to trial, and he will be judged by his peers, and we will see what happens after that.”

“Just to follow up with that, as a person of leadership and a woman, conscientious person, what do you think how tennis as a whole has treated this saga after three-plus years that it’s been going on and the continued sort of promotion of him, which has been alienating and off-putting for a lot of fans who I’ve heard from?”

Sloane: “I mean, it’s obviously a difficult situation, someone that is very prominent in our sport. I think now that he will be going to trial and be facing whatever he is facing can kind of put it to rest, whatever it is that happens.
I think there’s a lot of speculation and allegations. I think at this point for the tour and for the fans it needs to be done with. I think that’s what will happen. People will get what they want whenever his trial is. We’ll just go from
    there.
I guess the ATP will then decide what they will do with their player after that.”

“Until then… It’s still five months away.”

Sloane: “For three years no one has done anything, so I don’t think another five months of waiting for a criminal trial to happen is going to change”
