Last April Arthur Fils lost in qualies at the Sarasota Open and Daniel Elahi Galan won the title vs. Steve Johnson in the final. But the two players have taken different courses over the last year.
About a year later Fils and Galan met in the first round of Hamburg and it was Fils who won 75 75 vs. the Colombian.
Fils has exploded in the last year. The 19 year old from France is ranked 71 now and has 10-7 match record on the year, including an ATP title won in Lyon this year.
Galan is ranked 67 and the 27 year old has also had some major success, as he beat Tsitsipas at the US Open last year.
