Shoe Review: Wilson Trance Vision II

By Scoop Malinowski

Best clay court shoe I’ve ever worn, simple as that.

Perfect shoe for many reasons. Full length herringbone tread equals ideal traction. I played four sets in the Wilson Tour Vision and never slipped once on the Har Tru at Payne Park in Sarasota.

Comfort. Wilson uses Reactive Gel technology in the heel and forefoot and DST foam in the insole, which makes for a most comfortable ride.

The shoe features synthetic leather and mesh for lightweight support. The tongue is soft. It just feels perfect on your foot. All the way around, the ankle to the tip of the toes.

I love the look of the shoe too, every time I look down at it I find myself thinking, Darn, this shoe looks sweet. And that good feeling I think helps to make you feel more comfortable on court and play better.

By the way I won all four sets comfortably (against two quality players I had never hit with before) with this superb shoe, the Wilson Trance Vision II.

I tried but could not think of any way this shoe can be enhanced or perfected. It’s simply flat out fantastic.

If you have any kind of troubles with your clay court shoe or would like to try a new direction with your tennis footwear, I highly recommend the Wilson Trance Vision II.

Out of five stars, based on comfort, traction, style, appearance, I’ll give this shoe a perfect five. And will stock up with an extra pair for next year.

The Wilson Trance Vision II is available at www.Tenniswarehouse.com for $120.

Cant be better than the clay Nike Oscillates from years ago?

I like these more Harold, they have more comfortable and have more flex about them, and also the traction is better as the Herringbone tread goes up the sides of the outer sole. Oscillates were excellent but these are better.

Forgot to add I also like the indented toes feature in the insole cushion pad, it helps you get better that lil extra footing and traction, these little details make all the difference sometimes. Harold the Oscillate did not have that feature.

Jimmy Arias wears this shoe too. He wore the Transe Vision II in an exo against Mikael Pernfors in Sarasota recently.
