It’s another devastating loss for Andy, fresh off a flat first round flop at Australian Open. Murray won the first set 62 but then faltered 67 36. For Paire it’s his first win of the year – and his first ATP World Tour level win since August 2022 (Washington DC). Paire is currently ranked 112.
36 year old Murray is now 0-3 in 2024, his previous losses were to Tomas Etecheverry in AO and Grigor Dimitrov in Brisbane. His last title win was in 2019. Murray is ranked 49 and 1-8 in his last nine matches.
