Let’s Give Sam Some Love He Just Whupped Wawrinka

Qball

Sam gets nothing but flak around here for his underachieving. He literally gets picked apart physically and mentally for lacking footwork, speed, creativity, mental toughness, eye of the tiger, the list goes on.

But Soft Sam was Slammin Sammy today, or Sam Bam Thank You Stan. Q-Ball Squashed Wawrinka 63 76 in Asia. Remember, Stan The Man is battling for his first ever top eight finish and a lost at the London World Tour Finals. But Sam stepped up and got the job done.

Let’s give Sam some love. Watch out Australia, The Sam Querrey Express is back on track.

Rumble Young Sam Rumble.

I have to admit, I was pretty shocked to see Sam pulled off an upset of Wawa. But let’s not forget two things, Sam strikes mostly when expectations are low and this is a fast indoor court, I believe, where Sam is most dangerous.

Even so, I hear ye, Scoop, I’m giving a shout out to Sam I am. Is it too early to think semis in Aussie? Btw, are you going to Australia next year to complete your Hewitt book?

Sam is an all-surface threat. With significant conditioning it’s not a stretch to assume he’d be the rightful U.S. #1. I leave the slam threat problem alone – no U.S. player is cracking that nut for now.

A good win for sure, but he beat Djokovic in Paris last year and wasn’t able to build on that, so why should this be any different?

Maybe Sam will be inspired and pull a Nalbandian to march through the tourney.

Sam is due for a title, his usually pop out of nowhere Andrew. Beating Stan was his first big win over a top player in a LONG time, it might catapult Sam Bam.

Here’s a request for Sam: stand on the baseline, if for no other reason than to see how it goes. Nadal did it, Nalbandian did it at his best. So can Sam.

Sam gets props for this win as Warinka has been on a tear. That said it doesn’t indicate he’s in a turnaround. Remember Tipsaravic beat Djokovic in December and we all know how his year turned up.

Still annoyed Sam never gave full disclosure on his health ailments. Reading between the lines it sounds like he was having panic attacks. If so that’s a hard thing to overcome.
