Knockout At The Tennis Court

There was a recent tournament match in Bergen County NJ where one of the competitors became involved in a verbal altercation with a player on an adjacent court.

The dispute would eventually escalate to a physical confrontation.

The “Bergen Tennis” tournament match was tight and competitive. A witness revealed that a ball rolled onto the tournament match court and one of the players exchanged some heated words with the guy on the next court about the ball.

Tensions increased and the two came face to face. The Jewish player headbutted the Asian player who then retaliated with a one punch knockout. The fallen player landed on his shoulder and may have torn a rotator cuff. When he regained consciousness minutes later, a police report was filed and hospital visit was needed. His shoulder is still injured, he can’t lift his arm over his head. Surgery may be needed.

At the time of the violent eruption the match score was 75 54. The match, which was played in River Edge, NJ and was not resumed and ended in retirement due to technical knockout.

Hopefully both players will someday shake hands and forgive each other and find a way to turn a negative into a positive.

Ouch. Is the Jewish guy going to press charges? ๐Ÿ‘ฎ๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ

  • Scoop Malinowski · October 16, 2023 at 8:06 am

He can’t because he headbutted the guy first, that was an assault.

  • Sam · October 18, 2023 at 9:05 pm

Okay. When I read headbutt, I didn’t realize there was such force involved. You know, kind of like Nadal bumping into Rosol at Wimbledon. ๐Ÿ˜ But one dictionary describes it as “an aggressive and forceful thrust.” So . . . I guess the Asian guy could just
    claim self-defense? ๐Ÿค”

I would say both players deserve some kind of suspension, thoughโ€”if such a thing exists at that level.

Sam, headbutts were used fairly often in NHL hockey fights in the 80s, most did minimal damage but one time the head butt by Bob Probert knocked out Bob McGill, two names you probably never heard of. I did a book on Facing Bob Probert, the all time best hockey fighter/enforcer tough guy in hockey history. Not sure how much damage this head butt did on the tennis court. Apparently not a lot. And it may have angered the victim and given him a shot of emotional adrenaline.

You’re right, Scoopโ€”never heard of ’em. ๐Ÿ˜ So, did Probert end up in trouble for what he did?

And it may have angered the victim and given him a shot of emotional adrenaline.

I guess it would help if we could see actual video footage of what happened.

Sam, it was part of a bench clearing brawl during a pre-season game. Head butts in fights in the NHL were often missed because they’d be sneaked in during the frenzy of the fight. I remember Bobby Nystrom butted George McPhee at the end of a fight, after taking two butts during the fight, and he was given a game misconduct (kicked out of the game). The story of the tennis fight was bad words, face to face, headbutt, then one punch KO, the cliff notes version )

The NHL sounds pretty barbaric. ๐Ÿ’

Well, I hope that kind of dust-up is rare. ๐ŸฅŠ

Oh, Scoop, did you realize that your headline could also be interpreted in a different way? About a hot babe on the court or something. ๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿฆณ ๐Ÿ˜‰

Okay Sam I owe you another Knockout at the tennis court article on your terms ) I know a few candidates )

Hockey was insane back in the 70s 80s. Check out this fight. A lot of these fighter enforcer guys would fight like this dozens of time each season against big strong tough fighters. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TJT_qbfzwTQ

Actually there was another fight on court in Florida Lakewood Ranch three years ago. A chilean vs an egyptian. The smaller Chilean cheated and mocked the much bigger Egyptian who ended up punching him in the face and bloodied him. Police report, lawsuit, all that, I don’t know how it was settled. Both guys were in my league and I’ve played both. Actually had some words with the egyptian about politics and I said if America is so bad and racist why do people from all over the planet want to live here? He didn’t say much after that.

Well, I sure hope Hillary isn’t one of the candidates. ๐Ÿ˜น

    Check out this fight.

I tried to, but YouTube forces you to sign in to prove you’re an adult, and I no longer have an active account.

Ouch. Maybe tennis players should wear helmets then.
๐Ÿ˜ I actually had a roommate from Egypt once, and he was quite gentle for an Arab guy.

I said if America is so bad and racist why do people from all over the planet want to live here? He didnโ€™t say much after that.

Well, as quickly as America seems to be going down the tubes, don’t know how much longer foreigners will be wanting to move here. ๐Ÿคข

To my knowledge Killary has never touched a tennis racquet.

  • Scoop Malinowski · October 28, 2023 at 8:45 am

Well, the puppetmasters are inviting them here and incentivizing them to come here, it’s white replacement operation, white genocide.

  • Sam · October 31, 2023 at 8:29 pm

To my knowledge Killary has never touched a tennis racquet.

Well, if she ever did, someone would need to get some sanitary wipes and give it a serious scrubbing down afterward. ๐Ÿ˜†

Well, the puppetmasters are inviting them here and incentivizing them to come here, itโ€™s white replacement operation, white genocide.

And of course those folks don’t have to get jabbed and were never considered a health threat, while Djokovic was. ๐Ÿคช

By the way, saw your article about Matthew Perry. Apparently he was a jab fanatic, even selling T-shirts on his Web site to the tune of “I got jabbed!” (no joke). ๐Ÿ˜

  • Scoop Malinowski · October 31, 2023 at 9:19 pm

Sam, Hopefully we will never see Killary at a tennis match, I did see First tranny Big Mike at Ashe Kids Day one year. I see that Matthew Perry was a big drug shot promoter, probably on orders by his showbiz puppetmasters. All actors or puppets. I never watched one minute of that show Friends during it’s 10 year run. Heard that theme song by the Rembrandts often and it was a catchy tune but I’d never play the video on you tube. I never watched Friends, Seinfeld, Sopranos, I realized early that all tv shows are propaganda to control the public.

It is best explained here: Friends was propaganda; it was very real and very successful propaganda. But what was its purpose? On the surface, it was comedy, with a bunch of characters that a lot of people became invested in. That was the trick, getting people to care about these guys on the TV screen. Once the audience cared about them, the show could be used to manipulate behavior on a deeper psychological level, since people often mimic the behavior of those they care about, whether consciously or unconsciously. In sharp contrast to older shows like Ozzie and Harriet or My Three Sons, Friends was not based upon the dynamics of a traditional family, and the sort of selfless love that happens there. Friends was about six shallow, selfish adults, muddling aimlessly through life, having on and off relationships with each other, and finally reproducing in a very haphazard way. It is the normalization of dysfunctionality, which has had a very real impact on society.

I did see First tranny Big Mike at Ashe Kids Day one year

    “First tranny”–good one, Scoop. ๐Ÿ˜

    All actors or puppets.

Well, I’d say about 95% of them. Some actors bucked the jab (including a couple from the soap General Hospital, who ended up getting fired), but most just toe the line.

Funny, I never watched those shows either! ๐Ÿ˜Š

I realized early that all tv shows are propaganda to control the public.

I don’t know if I realized that back then, but yes, it’s certainly true.

Once the audience cared about them, the show could be used to manipulate behavior on a deeper psychological level, since people often mimic the behavior of those they care about, whether consciously or unconsciously.

    Makes complete sense.

In sharp contrast to older shows like Ozzie and Harriet or My Three Sons

Don’t think I’ve ever seen Ozzie and Harriet, but I watched My Three Sons all the time as a kid. Good show, as were a lot of others from that time.

Friends was about six shallow, selfish adults, muddling aimlessly through life, having on and off relationships with each other, and finally reproducing in a very haphazard way.

That’s pretty much how I saw it too. I didn’t consciously reject the showโ€”it just had zero appeal to me ๐Ÿ˜ด, in the same way I had no interest in other similar shows like Seinfeld, Beverly Hills 90210, etc.

It is the normalization of dysfunctionality, which has had a very real impact on society.

I think you nailed it, Scoop! ๐ŸŽฏ

Sam, those are not my quotes about the show Friends, I reposted it but I agree fully with it. TV shows went down the drain a long time ago. I could sense something was corrupt about sitcoms and shows in the 80s and 90s. Some shows I do like -original Hawaii Five 0, 70s Columbo, Honeymooners, original star trek, Night Stalker had a good premise about the rebel reporter challenging the establishment but the stories got silly after the first few.

Oh, I see, Scoop. Hope the original author won’t be mad at you or anything. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I remember all those. I liked the Beverly Hillbillies a lot.

Night Stalker had a good premise about the rebel reporter challenging the establishment but the stories got silly after the first few.

Never saw that seriesโ€”I guess because its ratings were apparently dismal, and it got canceled after only six episodes had aired. ๐Ÿ˜

Anyway, yes, TV shows have plummeted in quality in the past few decades.

  • Scoop Malinowski · November 9, 2023 at 8:10 am

The first Night Stalker film about the vampire terrorizing Las Vegas is the best by far, but it went downhill quickly with the second pilot film the Night Strangler, the TV series was silly but I liked it because the first pilot film of the vampire was so good. For some reason I could not watch more than a minute of Beverly Hillbillies )
