Is this the latest Nadal/Capriati/Federer teen phenom?

I received this email from a respected tennis friend who lives in the Philippines. He is quite excited about a certain coach and a certain 13-year-old player. Read on…

This Filippino coach will one day have a top ten player playing grand slams and he is bent on doing the unthinkable having a first Filipino number one in the world! AJ is a child wonder and I coach the kid too Scoop last year when he was 11 years old beating 18 year old kids in a tournament! AJ went to Florida to compete in Orange Bowl without a rank and became a runner-up to his Russian no. 1 ranked opponent and him as an unranked player – in 12 year & under.

Now AJ is 13 years old and playing ITF juniors for the second time around having entered the semis in his first ITF tournament and quarters in his 2nd tournament and, imagine, the kid is only 13 years old. He is beating older guys like 18 year old kids! The kid is really good and I hope he will be no. 1 in the world in 8-10 years from now and you need to believe me!

I’ve seen this kid and he is better than Rafa when Nadal was 13 years old! The Russian opponent at Orange Bowl got a lucky break because it was a close game and the Russian used an illegal timeout. I encouraged coach Manny Tecson to enter AJ in the prestigious 14 & under Orange Bowl and Eddie Herr this year but that would be depending on the availability of funds. Remember the name is AJ Lim, future number one and yours truly was once a coach for this tennis phenom kid! He is the talk of tennis coaches in ITF juniors here in Asia!

You need to write about him and contact or email his coach Manny to ask more about the wonder kid in tennis and dont forget to put my name (Ryan Arguelles) in the article! lol! The father promised me a Wimbledon seat in the future once he will be in the main draw and finals! I was the one who predicted that he will do good in the Orange Bowl and encourage the father to bring AJ in Florida for the Orange Bowl! The kid is really good Scoop, as a 13 years old!

But wait a minute, Capriati was 13 years old when she won a WTA tournament? Anyway lets see the progress! But I believe in this kid to go further in the pro level in years to come! Just wait for this kid at the US Open in 10 years Scoop!

It’s been quite some time since there was a can’t miss teen phenom like Nadal, Seles, Federer, Capriati, Agassi, etc., who we all just knew was going to make it big in tennis. Could AJ Lim be the next one? Stay tuned…

Did you guys hear they moved the men’s final to today ? It’s swirly in Ashe (too windy for Dan).

The place is startIng fill in a little but it’s maybe 1/2 full.

Luke Jenson just mentioned a Murray quote “You don’t grow up dreaming of winning the Olympics, you grow up dreaming of winning a slam.” Interesting.

Good luck to the young player.

I climbed up to the top of Ashe for the sunset and it is COLD up here. Still most of the crowd remains expecting 5 sets now.
