Is the ATP homophobic by nature?

Top ranked American tennis star Taylor Fritz made some controversial comments about the complete lack of any homosexual tennis players in the ATP.

Taylor Fritz said to Clay Magazine: “I’m not sure if there are homosexual players in the top 100. Statistically speaking, they should be. I feel like a player would be accepted. Myself and other players on tour wouldn’t have any issues with it, it would be normal and I think people would be accepting.”

Fritz is trying to be politically correct by pushing, promoting and popularizing the homosexual agenda into the news. He’s also trying to promote himself and his brand image as a heroic supporter of the homosexual lifestyle choice.

But he may have also made a mistake in doing so. Because he’s pointing out a truth – that there are zero male tennis players in the ATP who are homosexual. This fact suggests male professional tennis players reject homosexuality and are homophobic.

In every other professional sport, homosexual males have outed themselves but this has not happened in the ATP.

I’m assuming your final paragragh is not serious.

There may indeed be zero male tennis players who are gay but since homosexuality is not a conscious lifestyle choice I really don’t think it’s something to discuss on T-P. However ‘homophobic’ is a different matter altogether and isn’t anything praiseworthy. Taylor Fritz made it very clear that he is not homophobic and wouldn’t expect other players to be.

I hate to say it Scoop but you’re on very thin ice here with your attitudes.

Also – the ATP plays in countries where male homosexuality is severely punished. Good reasons to keep private lives private.

Catherine, I think if one male player did come out it would ruin his career. Because of all the attention the media would give this person, they would celebrate and make a huge iconic hero out of this brave person, the media would hype and promote this player everywhere 247. But it would be a huge distraction to his tennis and he would begin to lose. Tennis is hard enough without having to deal with media frenzies. I think this is the main reason why it won’t happen. If it ever could happen.

This is called “agenda pushing,” Scoop. 😛 As catherine said, best to keep private lives private.

As for the title of your article, what exactly is “homophobia”? The popular definition is any disapproval of the homosexual lifestyle. By that definition, Jesus and every single apostle in the New Testament would’ve been considered a “homophobe.” So, if someone accuses you of being one, it may well be a badge of honor. 🥇

Sam, the problem with their aggressions is when they push it on kids in school as early as kindergarten. It is something that should not be promoted. Tennis Channel attempted to promote a campaign called “Tennis is gay” earlier this year but thankfully it was met with heavy resistance and it was aborted. They had a drag queen character as the figurehead for the campaign google “tennis channel tennis is gay”). Truly horrible evil stuff. Hopefully it was aborted and not merely shelved.

Sam – well, re the New Testament as a moral guide, we, who might consider ourselves Christians, no longer use crucifixes as instruments of torture and death so I wouldn’t necessarily use the social/political values of Jesus’ time as applicable to 2022.

However, I do believe in keeping private lives private in the case of sexual preferences – which doesn’t mean persecution if those lives suddenly become public.

In the UK male homosexuality was decriminalised in 1967
to the benefit of thousands who had seen their lives destroyed through over zealous application of the law. You can look this up.

Catherine, pushing and promoting homosexuality and transgendering to children 5 years old is pure evil. It calls into question the entire movement itself and the evil forces behind the agenda. To do that to kids is unacceptable evil. Good vs evil.

Scoop – I have never heard a single credible case of homosexuality being promoted among five year olds – either in the UK or in Australia, where I used to live. Same goes for transexuality.

It’s a myth. Children that young would not be able to understand.

Of course this may happen in the US – I wouldn’t know.

What I do wonder is why Fritz felt he had to bring the subject up at all. He must have known the media would be all over it.

Ctherine, you’ll have to trust me, that degenerate filth is being promoted to young kids in schools and drag queen library shows, shocking enraging stuff. I don’t feel like researching it now. Fritz knows that by promoting himself as a friend to the gay movement he’s popularizing his name, brand and sponsors. I’d guess it was orchestrated by nike. As I’ve been told, big donors control politics and big sponsors control tennis. All the top establishment players are scripted and image controlled. Fritz is in position to be the next big American tennis star controlled by nike and head. Fritz is not going to do or say anything controversial or unscripted. America needs a major male tennis star to promote, it’s been too long since Agassi and Roddick.

Yes, Scoop, I’ve heard many instances of this in the U.S.

All the top establishment players are scripted and image controlled.

Federer and Nadal certainly are. Do you think Djokovic is too?

Yeah, unfortunately, it sounds like his strings are being pulled. 🙁

Sam, No Djokovic definitely was not scripted and image controlled in 2022, however it remains to be seen (and heard) in 2023. Fritz has shown a track record of subservience to the establishment deep state. I specifically remember seeing his IG post wearing a mask and the Opelka comment, “Good for optics.”

Gay men, which probably make up around 5% of all men, are under-represented in almost every professional sport. There’s nothing unique about tennis. There are far, far more NFL players than there are top 100 ATP players and yet there have only been a couple of gay NFL players in history. Same with MLB and the NBA. Given the over-representation of lesbians in womens sport, and the generally welcoming attitude with which they have been met by players, fans and the sport itself in the last 30 years, it’s reasonable to assume that the reason for the under-representation of gay men in professional sport is a function of the interests of young, gay men rather than some unique institutional hostility in male professional sports.

  • Scoop Malinowski · January 2, 2023 at 8:42 am

Bill, there may be instinctive disgust by heterosexual males regarding homosexuality which is concealed within for fear of public and media attack and cancellation like what happened to Margaret Court. No matter how much the left tries to force the public to embrace homosexuality I don’t think it will ever succeed universally. And this may explain why the numbers in male pro sports are so very low. No man wants to deal with the vicious treatment that Margaret Court has had to endure and suffer.
