Challenger Action

P1010966
The Challenger Tour is in Tallahasse this week, Jack Sock lost to Christian Harrison in the first round. Christian also beat Steve Johnson last week in Savannah in the first round. Brother Ryan, who won Savannah last week, defeating Facundo Arguello, and is now ranked #81, survived a three setter in first round in Tallahassee and will play Donald Young next for a spot in the semis. Harrison beat Alex Bogdanovic 75 75 in the second round.

Young hasn’t lost a set all week, routing Mischa Zverev and Michael Venus.

Arguello beat Odesnik and now plays Kudla for a SF spot in Harry’s half. Kudla has defeated Brad Klahn and Somdev Devvarmn this week.

In the top half Cedrik-Marcel Stebe meets Frank Dancevic in a QF – Frank the Tank beat C. Harrison – and the other QF in the top half pits Tim Smyczek vs. Alex Kuznetsov, a rematch of a thriller match in Sarasota, where Kuznetsov was down a set and 3-5 30-all, just two points from defeat, and came back and won the match from 0-3 down in the third, ultimately winning the title vs. Odesnik.

Ivo Karlovic was supposed to play in Tallahasse but has been hospitalized with some kind of brain stroke. Prayers go out to Dr. Ivo.

Christian Harrison is playing doubles with Michael Venus this week and Ryan is also trying dubs with a player I have never heard of before. I think doubles is a good idea for Ryan Harrison to round out his game.
