Carlos Wins Queens, Regains No. 1 Ranking

Carlos Alcaraz defeated Alex de Minaur 64 64 in the final of Queens Club to win his first grass court title. The Spaniard will regain the world no. 1 ranking tomorrow from Novak Djokovic, who will drop to no. 2.
The decision by the ATP Player Council to not award Wimbledon points the last two years has made an impact on the rankings flip flop. The defending Wimbledon champion Djokovi lost 2,000 points, Alcaraz lost 180 points. Tomorrow Alcaraz will be no. 1 again, with a difference of 80 points more than Djokovic.
The reason Alcaraz is no. 1 again is because of the Wimbledon ranking points freeze which was initiated by the ATP Player Council headed by Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Andrea Gaudenzi.
This marks the third time this year Alcaraz has become no. 1 – he did it earlier this year on March 20 for two weeks, May 22 for three weeks and tomorrow for guaranteed minimum of three weeks through July 10-16 for 2-3-3 plus. Djokovic has been no. 1 for 16 weeks this year – 7-7-2.
Alexander Bublik won his second ATP title in Halle by beating Andrey Rublev 63 36 63.

Super impressive for Alcaraz though. 8 semis in 9 events. 5 titles this year. The guy is playing at a super star level.
He seems like the only guy who can really challenge Novak.
