Carlos Asserts He Is Not A Blend Of The Best Of Federer, Nadal and Djokovic

It has been said recently that Carlos Alcaraz is a blend of the best attributes of Roger Federer’s attacking style, Rafael Nadal’s fighting spirit and will to win, and Novak Djokovic’s overall movement, consistency, intelligence and diverse arsenal.

But Carlos Alcaraz disagrees with that notion which has most notably been suggested by Djokovic among others in the media and tennis world …

“It’s great someone like Novak says these things about you. Someone who played against the best Nadal, against the best Federer and says I have some things about them. It’s great for me. But I don’t totally agree because I always say I’m full Carlos Alcaraz. I didn’t put styles like Rafa, like Roger, like Novak. I just try to follow my own path, try to create Carlos Alcaraz. I always say that. I’m believing that I’m not the characteristics of anyone but Carlos Alcaraz.”

The world no. 1’s coach Juan Carlos Ferrero might feel shorted by these comments. It is Ferrero who has coached Alcaraz full-time since he was fourteen.

Today in the final of the Western & Southern Cincinnati Open, Carlos and Djokovic will meet again for the first time since their epic Wimbledon final.

Dougie, best match I ever saw, highest level I ever saw played. Might even exceed or equal Jimbo 1991 US Open SF run at age 39 as most electrifying tennis moment.
