TAG: Anyone else out there suffering from tennis hip? Or is it just a pro ailment?

Yes, ladies and gents, (although I don’t know if we’ve had any ladies posting on tennis-prose.com yet), that is the one and only Vince Spadea in the draw of the Futures event in Davis, CA. this week. Seeded #6, right behind Marcelo Arevelo of Spain (and to think, Spadea once played Marcelo Rios in the finals of the clay event in Austria), ranked no. 506 in the world, Vince is no longer Vincent, just plain Vince. Spadea is the oldest American still out there, with at least a few years on Michael Russell and Kevin Kim. I don’t know if Vince is serious about getting back in form or he’s just gearing up to play an exo in Rockland Co. New York in early July and the Hall of Fame qualies in Newport, R.I. But still it’s good to see Vince back and interesting to see if he’ll be able to win a match or two as he gets ready to turn 36 in July. As late as last year, he told me he would be in the top 100 until he was 38, but that looks like a pipe dream now.
