ATP no. 133 Michael Mmoh has reunited with former coach Andres Alarcon. The 26 year old previously worked with the former Davis Cup player from Ecuador in early 2021. Mmoh lost in the second round at AO21 to Rafael Nadal 61 64 62.
Mmoh and Alarcon resumed training together last month and achieved a good result this week in Montpellier where Mmoh defeated French players Benjamin Bonzi 63 75 and Alexander Muller 64 64 before losing to ATP no. 7 and first seed Holger Rune 67 46 in the quarterfinal, his fifth time in an ATP QF. Mmoh held set points in the first set.
Mmoh and Alarcon will compete in Dallas next week. Mmoh’s career best ranking was no. 81 last September. He did not travel to Australia, electing to play Quimper Challengers instead (lost to Pierre Hugues Herbert 67 57).
