Random Tennis Player Biofile: Yeonah Jung

Lives: Fort Lee, NJ

Spotted playing at: Overpeck Park in Leonia, NJ.

First memory of tennis: “I like the movement. Kind of fast. I started to play myself first then I watched it on TV. Now I’m into it. Watch every day.”

Years playing: “I started five years ago.”

Favorite players to watch: “Of course, Federer, Nadal. Ladies – I like to watch Kim Clijsters. I like Del Potro too. I like to watch a lot of the Argentines. They are very athletic and fun to watch. So are the Spaniards. Another player I like to watch is Milos Raonic. I love watching him playing. It was so much fun watching him and Andy Rodick playing two month ago (Memphis final). First set was kind of boring because it was pretty much all the points by serve each side but later on they kind of clicked and had a great game.”

Greatest tennis moment: “When I beat the other opponent [laughs]. When I won. What else could be?”

Worst tennis moment: “Oh. When I lose.”

A funny memory of tennis: “So many times I laugh all the time. It’s just so much fun.”

Favorite courts: “I do prefer outdoors. I like the courts surrounded with the trees.”

Why do you love tennis: “So many reasons. I like tennis outfits. I have a lot of outfits. I like to shop. I like the rhythm of the game, it’s fast. It’s different from golf. And I can lose weight.”

Racquet: “Babolat Aero Pro Drive. I like the design and it feels good. I also have the blue Pure Drive – the best for power. I love that. This one (Aero) is better for practice.”

Shoes: “adidas. I like K-Swiss too.”
