Bublik Wants More Personality In ATP

Alexander Bublik beat Stan Wawrinka today 36 75 62 at Rolex Masters Monte Carlo today and followed up the masterpiece performance with an equally impressive Tennis Channel interview after the victory.

 “Who else fills stadium for doubles? Who else fills stadiums across America and in Australia for doubles?” 

Bublik also asserted the ATP “is trying to put us in a cage” by eliminating the wild, colorful, controversial personalities. Bublik believes young kids and juniors especially like to see personality displayed on court.

One of the more eccentric and interesting personalities of the ATP, Bublik also revealed, “I practiced one hour before Newport. I practice one hour before Queens.” In contrast, Bublik said he he has practiced two weeks on clay this year.  Today’s win was Bublik’s first ever in Monte Carlo.

Fellow Tennis Channel Jason Goodall was impressed by Bubik’s interview performance, describging it as, “fabulous.”

World no. 36 Bublik, who is sponsored by Yoxoi attire and Yonex racquets, will play Pablo Carreno Busta or Sebastian Baez in the second round. Bublik won his first ATP singles title this year in Montpellier.
