TAG: Novacek knew how to beat the best
One of the pleasures of the U.S. Open time of year is you never know who you might run into around the grounds. On the first day of qualifying, I spotted one of the world's top players of the early 1990's - Karel Novacek. Hardly recognized today, the talented man from Czech Republic was good enough to beat many of the modern legends of tennis, including Muster on clay, Sampras, John McEnroe, Vilas, Wilander, and Edberg.
