I love the US Open in New York. My tennis career kicked off for real at the US Open in 1978. I played two satellite tours called the WATCH Circuit in Florida earlier in the year and then the Southern Spring Circuit in the Carolinas and played through the early part of the summer in New Jersey and finally played the qualifying at the '78 USOpen and reached the quarter finals.
