Sock Smoked In Cincy

The ATP’s worst slumping singles player of the 2018 season continues his downward spiral into the abyss. Jack Sock got smoked once again today by Hyeon Chung 62 16 26.

Sock is now a brutal 5-15 on the season in singles – he hasn’t won a singles match since he beat David Ferrer 63 64 in Rome.

It’s Time For Jack Sock To Get Serious

Just a few months ago Jack Sock was the beacon of American tennis, winning a Masters Series in Paris and playing sensational tennis at the World Tour Finals round robin and semifinals where he barely lost to eventual champion Grigor Dimitrov.

Now, Jack Sock has crashed. He’s been a non-factor in singles all year, even losing to young Americans Taylor Fritz in Houston and Reilly Opelka in Delray Beach. Sock has lost his swagger, his confidence, his mojo and aura of semi-invincibility.

Delray Draw A Ten On A Ten Scale

Right out of the starting gate in the first round of the 2018 Delray Beach Open we have the 2017 final which was never played, Jack Sock the top seed vs Milos Raonic, who defaulted the final last year because of a groin injury he said he suffered in the semis vs Del Potro.

Another prime time first rounder is Reilly Opelka vs Ryan Harrison, the winner to face the Sock-Milos winner.

Sock Could Be Worst Top 10 Player Ever

sockJack Sock, the world #9, got destroyed by world #65, Peter Gojowczyk, yesterday in Auckland, 6-3, 6-3. The American who won the Paris Masters late last year and qualified for the London Masters event as one of the top 8 players still standing, put in a desultory performance against the German, who at 28 is right around his career-high ranking he achieved late last year. Sock who beat the Russian young gun, Karen Khachanov, last week at the Hopman’s Cup before suffering a hip injury against Yugita Sugita in the following match which he retired in, looked about as bad as Sock has looked on a tennis court in the past couple of years.
