The Roland Garros men’s five set thriller final of Alexander Zverev vs Flavio Cobolli attracted 1.3 million viewers on TNT Sports, down 25% from last year’s Carlos Alcaraz–Jannik Sinner marquee matchup. It was the least-watched men’s French Open final in two decades.
There’s several reasons for this ratings drop. Zverev has been misportrayed by the tennis media and given a negative, false image and he is not a major attraction in the US. Cobolli is still an unknown entity outside hardcore tennis fans.
