Mikael Ymer will face his older brother Elias Ymer in a first round battle of wildcards at Stockholm Open.
29 year old Elias is ranked 243 and 27 year old Mikael is ranked 617.
The two Ethiopian brothers who were raised in Sweden have played each other twice before on the ATP World Tour but it was over a decade ago. Elias won in 2015 at Brescia Challenger qualifying 36 51 ret. and he also won in 2014 at a Sweden Futures R16 64 75.
Battles of Brothers are rare in the ATP, the most recent one I believe was in Houston qualies about five years ago when Christian Harrison defeated older brother Ryan.
Other notable Brother matchups included the Zverev Brothers Alexander and Mischa (Alexander 1-0 but 1-2 counting qualies/Chall) and Rochus Brothers Olivier and Christophe (Olivier 2-0 but 2-1 counting qualies/Chall).
Elias has a career record of 45-82 in ATP while Mikael has accomplished a mark of 74-83. Elias has earned $2.17m in prize money but Mikael has amassed $2.77m.
