What Do You Do If You’re Ernie Gulbis Now?

10408123_321586321384328_5832249443466172693_nYou’re going to turn 28 in a couple of months. You’re ranked no. 61, an uptick after the French Open where you made it to the 4th rd where you beat the highest-ranked player of the year, no. 29 Joao Sousa (you also beat Dr. Ivo, no. 29, in Rome) at the only slam you’ve won a match at in 2016. You split with your previous coach and are now coach-less apparently. You’ve yet to win a single match at a Masters event this year.

What do you do? Grigor Dimitrov has had a similarly dismal year, but he’s still ranked no. 37, and he’s almost three years younger than Gulbis and he just beat Gilles Simon today and is into the 3rd rd of Wimby. Is Gulbis going the Harry route?

Hire Spadea – keep battling – hope for a resurrection like Spadea achieved -

Don’t talk trash, do the work. Get the hawk eye data of where, when you are making a mistake or getting beat. Don’t go on a coaches “feel” use the numbers and work the areas that are deficient.
