Sara Errani and Andrea Vavassori defeated Taylor Townsend and Donald Young in the final, 7–6, 7–5 to win the mixed doubles tennis title at the 2024 US Open. They were thrilled winning $200k.
The 2025 US Open Mixed Doubles teams were selected through a combination of direct entry and wild cards. The top eight teams, based on their combined singles rankings, earned automatic entry into the 16-team draw. The remaining eight spots were filled with wild card selections. The entry window for the event closed on July 28th

Yes I do like it now. Good team combinations is the reason. I think they should have a second normal mixed draw played during the normal time and have the two division winners meet in the real final. Find another sponsor to put up the extra dough.

Sam, If this new mixed doubles formula works, we may be in for a load of new gimmicks in the future. If they ever play rap music on changeovers at Wimbledon center court, I’m out.

Sam, they like my ideas. Years ago I suggested the ATP do an OLD GEN event for players over age 38 and sure enough they did a Legends tournament not long after. No credit to the origin of the idea though )
