Jim Courier was so impressed by the new edition of Stefanos Tsitsipas that he said he was re-born.
That’s the highest praise anyone can give to a stagnated player, especially coming from a Grand Slam champion and former world no. 1, the analysis carries a lot of weight. Tsitsipas looked like a dead player for the last year, one who reached his peak in his early 20s and was getting passed by the young lions and tigers emerging from everywhere lately.
But Tsitsipas is a lion himself, he had to be to get to a Grand Slam final and no. 3 in the world. He isn’t going to go down quietly and without a fierce fight.
After manhandling Matteo Berrettini in a dominant 63 63 masterpiece a couple of weeks after finally winning Dubai 500, the flashy world no. 9 explained his new combative court identity…
“I’m approaching these matches with determination and willingness to just leave it all out there on the court. I’ve seen improvements when it comes to my mindset. I just don’t want to take anything for granted. I fight for every single individual match as a different chapter, different story, regardless of what I have done before. I just feel like I want to get out there on the court and be a gladiator, and that’s how I approach every single match I get to play.”
Game on. Maybe Tsitsipas should pay homage to the all time boxing great Marvelous Marvin Hagler who wore a custom baseball cap to press conferences that said simply: WAR. There is some free space on his adidas headband for such a concise three-letter message.

His recent success has coincided with his new, blacked out racquet. Some have speculated that it is a Babolat Aero 98.
Seems lots of people are ditching the Blade to keep up with the modern game.

Tsitsipas mentioned the new mindset but is mum on the racquet mystery. Fascinating how a new racquet can give a player such an infusion of confidence and swagger. What Tsitsipas said can be translated: “I’m here to kick ass and chew bubble gum and I’m all outta bubble gum.” Anybody know which movie that quote is from? (I’d be very surprised if anyone does.)

It sounds like something the actor Daphne Coleman would say in a comedy….

No, it’s THEY LIVE directed by John Carpenter starring Roddy Piper. Very very underrated classic film with a very very powerful metaphor message. Low budget but devastatingly impacting and revealing.

[he] was getting passed by the young lions and tigers emerging from everywhere lately.

Sam since Tsitsipas boasted about his mew “gladiator mindset” his results have reverted back to journeyman level.

Scoop, I guess it’s best to keep your cards close to your vest. 🃏 😏

Sam, Tsitsipas should have kept showing his gladiator mindset, not talk about it.

Scoop, but yakking about it on social media is so much more fun! 😋

Jacko Wacko was definitely a tortured soul and that doc on ABC in Neverland showing him hanging out and playing with kids was disturbing to put it mildly. It’s a wonder he didn’t unalive himself after ABC aired it.
Is there anybody in the whole Jackson clan who isn’t majorly screwed up in some way? 🤔
Phantom of the paradise is a very weird film but it exposes the message that the music industry is demonic and all the big names have to sign a blood contract with the devil to make it big. Their souls are all owned.
I was watching a documentary about the Carpenters recently, and I wonder if anything like that was going on with Karen? 🤢 At the very least, fame is extremely stressful. I suspect that Karen would still be alive today if she never became famous.
I know this for a fact because I had a friend who was a lead vocalist for a major metal group and he openly worshipped satan.
That doesn’t surprise me, because I’ve always felt that most metal music is demonic. By the way, is your friend still alive, Scoop?

Good point on Karen Carpenter, I also wonder if she had to make a blood contract for her fame and fortune and what the real reason was about her death. I don’t trust any official narratives anymore. Yes he is still alive but supposedly died twice from overdoses, or so the story goes. Great guy but mixed up in a dark industry.

Yes his social media philosophizing isn’t going to be any threat to Socrates or Aristotle )
