Rublev Admires Alcaraz Pure Drive

Some pro players are happy just to be living the life of luxury and glamour of the ATP World Tour. But Carlos Alcaraz is not one of those kind of ordinary competitors, according to Andrey Rublev.

“I can see that he also really is in love with tennis,” said the ATP’s 8th ranked player and winner of eleven ATP singles titles. “You can see fire in his eyes. You can see that he is not here because of the life he can get from tennis, he is here because he just likes tennis no matter what, and this I really respect.”

Mike Tyson once said, “I was consumed with being the best, I loved boxing, I ate and slept boxing every day. I was totally focused on trying to be the best fighter on the planet. These guys today are all businessman, they have too many outside interests and distractions outside of boxing.”

Alcaraz is like a young Mike Tyson in that he, as Rublev notices, loves the sport inside and out and is fully committed to try to become the best.

What lets you rize above injury to knock off the 2 greatest players ever?

Because Alcaraz is something very special, he’s going to be a wrecking machine for many years and we are not even close to his prime years yet.
