Roland Garros Rescheduled

The Roland-Garros tournament will be played from 20th September to 4th October 2020.

Laver Cup scheduled for Boston on the last weekend of September is now in jeapordy.

Tennys Sandgren said in a tweet about the schedule flip: F it. Let’s just play the last 3 majors back to back to back.

Vasek Pospisil was less receptive to the sudden change: This is madness.

The Canadian is outraged that there were no meetings or discussions with players to approve the change.

But nobody is forcing Pospisil to play. He is free to sit it out.

I find the rescheduling to be intriguing and thrilling. Can’t wait to see red clay grand slam tennis in the fall right after U.S. Open.

Wow. I’m shocked. This totally changes the dynamics of the event. But the good part is that at least it will be played. With this upheaval, I really don’t think Nadal will be the prohibitive favorite he normally is.

So, will Wimbledon still be played? And I guess the U.S. Open will start the week of Christmas then? 😉

What do you wanna bet that Federer calls it a career soon?

I can’t believe the uproar by some players about this decision by Roland Garros. Players play tennis. What is the problem? If you don’t like it stay home. Laver Cup wants to happen and make profits but tough luck, corona virus is hurting everyone, them too. Roland Garros is far more important than Laver Cup exhibition. Could it be Roland Garros calls the shots, it’s their tournament, it’s earned that right. Hopefully Rafa won’t be complaining about it. He will look not so good if he does. Players play tennis. Don’t like it stay home and watch on TV.

It’s definitely an overreaction. Haven’t heard Nadal complaining, though. Exactly–if you don’t like it, stay home. 🙂
