Our Spy Reports Djokovic In Poor Practice Form In Beijing

Our spy reports from Beijing ATP 500 where he has been observing Novak Djokovic…
“Although I like Novak Djokovic and always support him, based on his practice these days in Beijing, it appears very unlikely he will pass the first round vs Nuno Borges. 1. Still no reliable serve. 2. Bad physical condition, almost vomiting even in practice set.”
“The resale price of Novak’s first match has increased five-fold now, while the second round tickets haven’t been sold out yet, as even his loyal Chinese fans don’t believe he can win the first round and so the first round is the only and last chance they can watch him playing.”

The 39 year old Djokovic has not won a match since Wimbledon vs Felix in the QF. He lost to Tirante 1R in Cincy.
Has the greatest tennis champion in the history of the sport finally begun his downward descent? Has Djokovic subconsciously lost his competitive edge now because he just does not have the same drive to slay Carlos, Zverev, Felix, Foe, Fritz, etc. as he did against Federer and Nadal?
If Novak is no longer inspired to be the best, as he said he no longer cares about the No. 1 ranking, then what exactly is left for him to prove?

Borges has been an undervalued player for some time. But FWIW, his game is way different than a Tirante or Navone. Those guys just keep everything in and elongate points. Borges will have pace and counterpunch and I think this suits Joker’s flow. IDK. I think certain types of players can frustrate Djokovic and I don’t see Borges as being that type. I think Joker rolls into the 2R. Let’s go!!!!

Djokovic wins it 63 76. Djokovic confidence is diminished by the losses. Players view him as beatable and vulnerable. He’s fighting for survival now. No mercy. To revive his confidence and aura Djokovic needs to beat a top ten player asap. He needs a big win to make a statement, that he’s still a predator and not the prey.

Apparently he wasn’t quite as dire as your spy made him out to be. 😏

Sam, or Novak responded like a champ after his practice struggles and internal pressure he put on himself to perform to a level he expected of himself. Or maybe he was intentionally showing weakness as a deception? )
