WTA player Priscariu Andreea dropped a bombshell this weekend on X. She asserts, “There are no real friendships on Tour whatsoever.”
She backed up her allegations with some hard hitting words.
When asked if Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz are friends, Andreea responded: “Hahah Nole is smart, he respects players and he is respected. Big difference. But on court everyone wants to eat one another.”

I think once players retire, the possibility of a friendship increases. I mean, aren’t Martina and Chrissy supposed to be pretty good friends?

Yes but Steffi and Monica are not close at all. In my Facing Agassi book David Sanguinetti said he has become close friends with Andre since retirement. Courier said of all the Americans he’s closest with Andre. Wonder how that Maria Serena “friendship” is evolving? )

Well, if I were Monica, I wouldn’t want to be friends with Steffi either. 🤢 Maybe if the stabbing had never happened, things would be different between the two.

Serena had Maria make her intro speech at Hall of Fame last summer which was a big surprise. Maybe just a publicity stunt, likely they don’t keep contact. When Maria was young on tour I know she got along well with Cirstea and Ivanovic but then she seemed to distance herself from everyone. It worked out for her.
