Former 2014 US Open finalist and world no. 4 has been tangled up in an infidelity scandal in Japan. The married with two kids Kei Nishikori was apparently caught by Japanese tabloid Shukan Bunshun in an affair with a 32 year old model named Azuki Oguchi, photographed outside her apartment while in Japan for treatment for a recent injury which caused him to withdraw from Roland Garros and Wimbledon.
Nishikori did not deny the affair and gave a statement to the outlet.
“I deeply apologize for causing discomfort to everyone who supports me: tennis fans, associations, sponsors, and other related parties, and for their concern and inconvenience due to my dishonest behavior. Additionally, I deeply regret making my wife (of five years Mai Yamaguchi) and children feel hurt. Moving forward, in order to fulfill my role as a responsible member of society, I will focus solely on tennis competitions and achieving results. We will do everything possible to regain their trust.”
Currently ranked 61 on the ATP World Tour, Nishikori has won 450 matches in his career and 12 ATP titles and over $25m in career prize money – and a net worth of $24m.

He seems to regret that he hurt people, but not that he actually got involved with Oguchi! 🤔

Wow, I think he showed us the problem right there! 😬 Sorry, dude, but your focus right now should be on repairing the damage to your marriage and family. Go get some counseling, beg your wife and kids forgiveness, and promise never to cheat on your wife and their mother again. 🤓

Sam, apparently the mistress revealed he said to her he doesn’t love his wife anymore. Not sure the wife will accept that revelation to warmly or she feels the same to him. It’s a big mess which may end his career.
