Medvedev Says Laver Cup Is “Very Relaxed”

You can always count on Daniil Medvedev to speak the truth without fear of ruffling the feathers of the tennis establishment.

The Russian former world no. 1 said Laver Cup is practically a paid vacation for the players invited to play. “It’s actually very easy. Usually (on the ATP World Tour) against many of these guys I want to win like ranking, or your matches, etc., when you play them. So here is the only week when you’re very relaxed, you want them (teammates) only to win, you don’t care which score, against who. It’s very easy feeling…”

Medvedev is currently ranked four in the world, just behind Carlos Alcaraz and ahead of no. 5 Taylor Fritz.

There are more intense matches on the ATP schedule this week – ATP Challengers are being contested in Columbus, OH USA, Austria, Saint-Tropez, and Cali, Colombia.

Yeah, Meddy gives the best interiews. Team Europe looks as bored as the us fans watching the highlights.

Cory, it’s a failure, Borg is out of it, just sits there, no coaching. The whole thing is a desperate attempt to imitate Ryder Cup. “Imitation is suicide.” = Ralph Waldo Emerson.

It should be four teams Asia, Europe, North America, South America. Europe vs World is silly and nobody cares. Godsick and Federer didn’t think this through.

Steve my lasting image of LC is Federer getting caught by TV cameras looking at his phone twice during a Boston match. Even Federer showed he wasn’t interested to watch his own tournament.
