Ivan Lendl, one of the captains at the ATP Legends Team Cup event in Pula Istria, Croatia, expressed his point of view today regarding the Djokovic/Federer/Nadal race to see who wins the most Grand Slam titles…
“At moment Roger (Federer) seems out of it as he’s not played for a long time and he’s the oldest. The only think I regret is that the fight is somehow affected by politics at the moment because of the vaccination issues. I only hope in twenty years we won’t look at through that prism, that we won’t know who was the greatest because of politics. If Rafa wins one more slam here he will have to answer the question about the vaccination and the fact that Novak was not allowed to play, and I just don’t think that is fair.”
Nadal has remained silent about any public comments urging the establishment to allow Djokovic to compete at the US Open and Australian Open, seemingly wishing to compete in those tournaments without the danger of having to face Djokovic, which would put his efforts to win the most major titles at risk.
