Kozlov Achieves Career Best Ranking Despite Losing Streak

15-year-old Stefan Kozlov meets the press.

In another quirk of the cockeyed ATP ranking system which was warped by the cancellation of Wimbledon points, Stefan Kozlov has reached his new career best ranking of 103 even though he has lost first round at three of his last four tournaments.

Kozlov is playing the Indianapolis Challenger this week.

Last week Kozlov lost 1R in Newport to Steve Johnson 75 63. At Wimbledon, Kozlov qualified but lost first round to Diego Schwartzman 63 62 62. At Queens in first round of qualies he lost to Steve Johnson 60 60. At S-Hertogenbosch qualies he lost to Matt Ebden 64 64.

His last ATP main tour match win was in Acapulco vs Grigor Dimitrov 75 67 63.

Kozlov’s last Challenger match win was Surbiton vs Mats Moraing.

Kozlov is 4-5 in the ATP this year and has earned $259,705.

In Indianapolis for his quest to crack the top 100, in the first round the 24 year old Kozlov will play 269 ranked Aleks Kovacevic, who he beat at 2021 Las Vegas Challenger in straight sets.
