It can no longer be denied who is the greatest

Novak Djokovic defeated a superhuman challenge by Stefanos Tsitsipas with a five set 67 26 63 62 64 masterpiece of blood, guts, genius, and unbreakable iron will.

The 33 year old Serbian needed everything in his arsenal and bag of tricks to defy the ambitious Greek, who will surely inevitably win at least a handful of Grand Slams, of which will be earned from the painful, bitter lessons learned today in Paris.

Djokovic now has won 19 Grand Slams, inching closer the 20 mark shared by Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal.

During this tournament, Djokovic overcame Lorenzo Musetti from two sets down, the all time king of clay himself Rafael Nadal and a stunning two set deficit in today’s final to the future king of tennis.

It can simply no longer be denied… Novak Djokovic is the greatest tennis player who ever lived.

You called it 2 weeks ago Scoop so congrats the king is gone, now all hail the new king. The only way to top this is to pass Fed and Rafa while achieving the calender slam in NYC! Mt. Olympus & dawn of a new era

Doug, I’ve been picking Djokovic to beat Rafa and win the French for like the last ten years. Never lost faith in him. Nice to see he finally fulfilled my prediction. The Grand Slam 2021 is very possible right now.

This interesting comment from an avid Nadal supporter:

    Tom Michael
I do not deny it. Novak is the greatest tennis champion. since 2019 I expected it. That time three of four majors had roof stadiums. And the French was adding one in 2020. Djokovic’s demolition of Rafa at Melbourne in 2019 clarified that his game is tailor made for semi indoor and indoor tennis. 17 of his 19 slams are won on roofed stadiums. There is almost no wind in these stadiums anymore. A friend of mine court side at Arthur Ashe noticed this after 2015. The US open has been so windy for decades and now the current roof even when open takes the wind away significantly.
Djokovic should have won last year at Roland Garros on paper. But his arrogance and that of his coaching team caused him to underestimate Rafa in the final leading to the demolition he experienced. But this year he was prepared to grind it out.
I said earlier 17/19 slams for Novak are won on roofed stadiums. For Federer 9/20 on roofed stadiums. For Nadal 5/20. Federer and Nadal are actually better pure outdoor players. Both Can handle wind and extreme heat better than Novak.
But the current neutral and mild conditions favor Novak to dominate and end up with the most slams.

Most weeks at world no. 1. Five WTF titles. Most Masters 1000 titles (tied with Nadal). Only man to win a major coming back from two sets down twice in the tournament. Winning head to head records vs both Nadal and Federer. Multi millions more in prize money than Federer and Nadal. Has saved four MPs vs Federer at US Open and Wimbledon and won both matches, Federer has never returned the favor. Has not lost to Federer in a major since 2012.
