The $6m Six Kings Slam exhibition in Saudi Arabia means nothing but money for the top players who don’t need it, from the deep pockets of Saudi Arabia promoters.
I have a better idea for a Saudi tennis exo. How about two separate exos same week. Cut the budget to $3m for the elite ATP players and then during the same week stage a $2m event for a random draw of 12 players ranked from 100-50? The champion would get $1.5m, runner up $500,000. And also a $1m mixed doubles event with random draw of ATP WTA players ranked 100-500.
Imagine seeing lower ranked struggling playing competing for that kind of prize money.
Tennis needs innovations and particularly innovations that benefit those players who haven’t made it yet. It would have the potential to become a gigantic event which could even sustain itself. Who wouldn’t want to see low ranked players playing for Grand Slam final rewards?
Saudi Arabia could make such a tournament a reality.

I like it but I wouild make the other exo like 300-50 abouts of intersting players Tomic & Shang and Brooksy and Arnaldi and Benoit(rank 680)…interesting players.

Steve, Paire is done I think, stopped playing months ago. He can’t even get into Challengers now and not likely he will drop down to ITF $25ks. Maybe put the name marquee players into the special invitational quali draw )

We shall see if there is an emphasis on Challenger and lower level pro tennis in the years to come. The more it’s talked about the better the chances. I’m doing my part…

Sam things are trending to do more for the lower ranked players and I think we will see it in coming years in the form of special events.

Sam not only great to see but it would also help promote and incentivize the lower ranked players. Tennis needs this kind of unique innovations instead of the same old same old tournaments and exos. I hope Djokovic and PTPA read this.
