“The great LeRoy Neiman was watching the match, sketching me on court. On September 20 1973 there were millions of eyes around the world watching Bobby Riggs and me (play Battle of Sexes in Houston Astrodome televised by ABC TV). In my office, I have a LeRoy Neiman sketch of the match with Bobby Riggs. He sent me two sketches and a letter years later – he thought he had lost it. Then I saw him years later and we talked about it. I love having these sketches. He also did a beautiful one of my mother. So that was a real joy for me.”
