Felix Auger Aliassime did it again. The Canadian 24 year old managed to blow 60 20 lead and lost to Borna Coric at United Cup 60 46 46.
The former world no. 6 (back in 2022) is now ranked 29 and trending to journeyman status.
Felix finished 2024 with a 2-4 record in his last four tournaments and 35-25 overall. It makes no sense why he did not make a coaching change to change the energy of his team. According to the ATP site Fred Fontang and Toni Nadal are still his coaches.
Marcelo Rios dismissed his coach Larry Stefanki after becoming ATP world no. 1. Jack Draper fired Wayne Ferreira last year after being coached to his career high ranking and an ATP title.
For Felix to not make a coaching change as his career continues to stagnate for two years now, is maybe the most confusing question in tennis today.
One can only wonder what a proven successful coach like Wayne Ferreira could do to get Felix back on track.
For Felix to continue to stay associated with two coaches who are clearly not helping his game or his career just might be the most unintelligent decision in pro tennis today.

Felix followed up this bad loss to Coric with a huge first career win vs Fritz in three sets. Felix showing he’s one of the most unpredictable players in ATP, beating Fritz could be a career changing win for Felix as Fritz is top 5.

Djokovic and Kyrgios is the most electric doubles team I ever saw. They will create magic together. Tsitsipas is a shattered broken player. He had his chance but blew that FO final from two sets up, he never recovered. His backhand needs clostebol.
