Roger Federer may not be playing pro tennis anymore but his presence is being felt indirectly on the professional tennis circuit. This week in Washington DC at the Citi Open one prominent player has been wearing the new tennis shoes Federer created.
The Switzerland-based athletic shoe manufacturer ON has received some very positive exposure because Jack Sock is wearing white ON shoes with his Lululemon outfit. Sock won his first round match vs David Goffin but then lost to Maxime Cressy in three sets yesterday. Sock is still in the doubles with Nick Kyrgios.
ON shoes are also being worn now by US Open finalist Leylah Annie Fernandez who recently switched from Asics. The Canadian has been sporting white ON shoes in her recent practice sessions.

I know a couple of players who use ON shoes and both I asked about how they like them and both were not very impressed, one said they felt ordinary, nothing special. The other had a similar bland reaction, good but not worth the price and he was expecting better quality.
