Earlier this year Roger Federer dropped the brainchild that he intends to do a long global exhibition tour of matches against various opponents from his illustrious, historic career. Today the tennis icon says he’s open to starting a ‘Fedal tour’ with arch rival Rafael Nadal.
Question: “Would you ever start a senior tour with Rafa?”
Roger Federer: “Yeah, why not? I love Rafa. I’ve been playing a lot so I’m trying to keep in good shape. I know that Rafa is also totally open to play some tennis. It sounds terrible, seniors tennis, to us but maybe we can create a tour, like a Fedal tour.”
Federer could evolve the idea into a Jimmy Connors like Senior Tour with a supporting cast of players such as James Blake, Lleyton Hewitt, Andy Roddick, Tim Henman, Tomas Berdych, Juan Martin Del Potro, David Ferrer, among others.

Yeah, I saw that. Obviouly, any match with Fed vs Nadal would do great business.
Did you notice Brooksby is on Team World for the Laver Cup? …pretty cool if he gets to play.
Was thinking Europe should have invited Wawrinka into one of their non-ranking based slots before he leaves the game.

Steve, Stan is busy playing real tennis, he’s in a Challenger this week in St. Tropez, I think he’s in the semi. Stan has never played Laver Cup, which suggests maybe he and Federer are not as close as one would expect.

Looks like a wonderful event, hopefully it will be on you tube. Gasquet is not one to clamor the spotlight, he doesn’t like to be the star of the show, but on this might he will be.

I’ve watching Stan’s Saint Tropez highlights. Flashes of THe Stanimal here & there. Amazing level at aany age let alone 40. You’re right, he’s playing real tennis.

Stan looks the same as he did when he won the French Open, some physique, same haircut, same strokes, serve, everything, just doesn’t win as much or hit as well as he used to. He’s aging well. Wonder if AO will give him the WC>

I was hoping to catch your match today. I thought the semis started at 1pm. :-/ Good finals anyways.

GOod to see you there, yeah we lost a tough one, we were up 32 and 30-15 and then never won another game. I play those guys a few times every week and they are always tough, win some lose some but they played their best ever today and yesterday but they lost final from a set and 42 up. The one opponent was no. 1 18 and under junior in Colombia, High level.

The Laver Cup is not doing well:
– Used to make a £3.5M profit in early years
– 2023 Vancouver edition made £1.8M loss
– 2024 Berlin one saw a £1.5M loss
– Went from £17.5M to £12.5M in ticket sales
