A year ago Emma Raducanu made history and won ten match and twenty sets to win the US Open as a qualifier.
It was one of the most stunning, shocking, unexpected Grand Slam title wins in tennis history, if not THE all time underdog upset win. No one who witnessed it will ever forget Raducanu beating Leylah Fernandez in straight sets in the final 63 64.
Life has surely changed for the now 19 year old British lass, especially her fame and fortune. However, Raducanu’s results in 2022 have been substantially less than sensational, she has a losing record in her WTA matches since the US Open conquest.
Despite the burden of needing to do well again in New York to protect her 2000 ranking points, Raducanu is ready to embrace whatever fate that awaits her.
“If I lose 2000 points so be it, I’ll start again from the bottom. I know I can do something that no one else has done. I qualified and won the US Open, so I can start from the beginning, I can start from zero and I’m not afraid of that,” said Raducanu at her Cincinnati press conference before her first round showdown with Serena Williams.
Raducanu’s new coach Dmitry Tursunov has arrived on the scene in Ohio to begin work on the mental and physical challenges which loom ahead for the tennis phenomenon.

Reilly Opelka dropping bombshells on twitter…
It seems like our player board reps did a great job negotiating on our behalf…they did get the players 2% prize money increases and agreed to the biggest known sucker play in revenue sharing by agreeing to a % of “NET” profits as opposed to “gross.”
Are you ready for the anti Opelka smear campaign from the tennis deep state???
