Eddie Herr Results

Michael Antonius of Buffalo, NY won the boys 12s title 6-2 6-1 vs. Tabb Tuck. Antonius was dominant all week losing just eight games in six matches.

Arthur Gea of France won the boys 18s title by beating University of Florida freshman Jonah Braswell of Sarasota.

Mayu Crossley, Japan, won the girls 18s title vs 15 year old Tereza Valentova, who played a four hour plus SF the day before 7-6 6-7 7-6 (vs Sayaka Ishii).

The 18s boys doubles title was captured by American Cooper Williams and Yaroslav Demin of Russia, with the top seeds defeating No. 4 seeds Andrin Casanova of Switzerland and Kevin Edengren of Sweden 7-5, 6-4.

Maxwell Exsted of Minnesota, earned the boys 16s championship. It was 15 year old Exsted’s third Eddie Herr final – he previously reached the 12s final in 2019 and the 14s final last year. In the 16s final, he trailed no. 2 seed Calvin Baierl 5-2 in the final set before storming back for a sensational 4-6 6-3 7-5 win.

Another American Keaton Hance lost to no. 2 seed Se Hyuk Cho of S. Korea 2-6, 7-5, 6-2 after serving for the match at 5-4 in the second set. Hance had been down 1-4 in the second set.

In girls 12s, top seed Yeri Hong was one of three S. Koreans to win singles titles – she won her title after no. 5 seed Yui Komada of Japan retired with an injury trailing 6-2, 1-0.

The third Korean title came in girls 16s, with Hyunyee Lee, seeded no. 2, overcame no. 14 seed Ece Gencer of Turkey 6-3, 6-3.

There was one unseeded champion at Eddie Herr this year – in the girls 14s Yihan Qu of China bested top seed Emerson Jones of Australia 7-5, 6-2.
