Cruz Hewitt Enters AO On Three Match Losing Streak

16 year old prospect Cruz Hewitt will play the 2025 Australian Open qualifying tournament with a wildcard and a three match losing streak.

The son of Aussie legendary hero Lleyton Hewitt lost in the round of 16 at Brisbane ITF $25,000 to Jake Delaney 67 16 in mid-November.

Then he lost first round Caloundra ITF $25,000 to Hayden Jones 36 67.

His last official match was this past week at ATP Challenger Canberra where he lost first round of qualies to American Brandon Holt (son of Tracy Austin) 67 16.

Young Hewitt is already on site of the Australian Open in Melbourne preparing diligently with his father and yesterday the teenager hit with ATP world no. 1 Jannik Sinner.

Cruz Hewitt is currently ranked ATP 1265 on the strength of 2024 victories over ATP ranked players Makoto Ochi and Joshua Sheehy in ATP Challengers. Hewitt is ranked just outside the top 100 in ITF juniors.
