Coaching Changes

A couple of notable coaching changes were made after the 2025 US Open.

Ashlyn Krueger has decided to part ways with her longtime coach since juniors Michael Joyce, who guided the big hitting 21 year old Texan to the top 30 in WTA. They united about five years ago.

Currently ranked 42, Krueger won her only WTA singles title in 2023 in Tokyo, a 250 event, and this year made finals at WTA 5000 Abu Dhabi, losing to Belinda Bencic 64 16 16. Her best major result was third round at US Open 2024. This year at US Open Ash beat Sofia Kenin in the first round in three sets but lost to Jacqueline Christian in second round in three sets.

Hugo Gaston of France dissolved his two year collaboration with coach Younes El Aynaoui. The 24 year old from France was ranked 58 in the world in 2022 but has dropped down to 128. Gaston, with a 7-17 match record on the year, has lost first round at his last four tournaments, including at US Open to Shintaro Mochizuki in three sets.
