Cincy Open 2022

The tournament that was bought this year by investor/philanthropist Ben Navarro, the Cincy Open never fails to deliver super high quality tennis and stunning drama.

Already there have been some interesting results. Naomi Osaka’s career continues to tailspin into mediocrity as she lost to Shuai Zhang in straight sets.

Andy Murray beats his rival Stan Wawrinka 75 in the third in a marathon epic between two legends of the previous era.

In a battle of rising Americans, Tommy Paul bounced Jenson Brooksby to New York, 62 63.

37 year old John Isner showed again he has plenty of fuel in his tank as he won another marathon, this time 76 36 76 vs Benjamin Bonzi.

Fabio Fognini got in as a LL and beat Albert Vinolas Ramos 62 63, that is the Italian Stallion’s tenth win vs the Spanish lefty, against two defeats.

Denis Shapovalov beat Grigor Dimitrov 76 63 to level their career head to head at 2-2.

Frances Tiafoe scored one of his best wins of the year by besting Matteo Berrettini 76 46 76.

Taylor Fritz, the top ranked American annihilated Sebastian Baez 61 61.

Cameron Norrie continues to roll to victories, he beat the ice cold Holger Rune in three sets. 11th ranked Norrie now as 38 match wins on the year.

And Montreal king Pablo Carreno Busta lost to Serbian Miomir Kecmanovic today 16 75 76. It was their first meeting.

New world no. 1 in doubles Coco Gauff retired today vs Maria Bouzkova down 57 01.

Wildcard Sofia Kenin got blown out again in a singles match by Shelby Rogers 62 61.

Marta Kostyuk defeated Camila Giorgi 64 67 64.

42 year old Venus Williams, now ranked 1500, lost 75 61 to Karolina Pliskova.

Of course the big match showdown is later today, Serena Williams vs Emma Raducanu.

Calm and collected match from Bromley’s finest 🙂
Unfortunately the scheduling is against Emma v Azarenka but it’s all experience – which she’s soaking up. Impeccable behaviour at the end.

Raducanu looked like the girl who won the US open last year, Tursunov is going to have a wonderful impact on her over the next week and beyond. Tursunov could coach me into the top 200. )

Shelton beats Ruud in SS. Murray loses 64 inthird to Norrie. Fritz ousts Nick 63 62. Kecmanovic beaten by Sinner. Isner topples Hurkacz. Shapo over Tommy Paul. Rare early round defeat by Paul who has been a model of consistency this year.

Raducanu blitzes Azarenka 60 62. Tursunov factor.

Every time the camera showed Dimitry he was grinning broadly. I feel a little sorry for Kontaveit.

Catherine Raducanu beat Azarenka, tagging her with one of her worst career losses by scoreline. USTA is cloning Tursunov and will give Pegula, Sloane, Keys, Collins, Townsend, Liu, the Tursunov clone coach when it’s ready to coach.

Interesting quote: “when athletes hit stardom at a young age, become very wealthy. The whole world serves them 24/7. They receive everything they ask for and more. Unfortunately, human nature allows for them to make the whole world about themselves.”

Raducanu brought back to earth, loses to Pegula who has emerged as the top American. I can’t even name her coach. Have to admit, Cincy Open seems empty and hollow and irrelevant without Djokovic. The tennis deep state is ruining the sport with it’s agenda to cancel Djokovic.

Swiatek also fell to earth. She’s making a complaint to USTA about the lighter balls used by women at USO. Myself, I can’t see why the balls shouldn’t be the same for both WTA and ATP. Barty’s coach commented last year that Ashleigh would never win the USO with the lighter ball.

Pegula/Radacanu was close but Pegula was better. Emma’s showing more aggression which is good.

Catherine, I found it interesting that Iga revealed the difference about the balls for women and men which is rarely talked about, as it exposes the scam of equality. Forced equality is not natural. Iga’s loss to Cornet at Wimbledon was a very strange odd performance by Iga, she was unbeatable but that day played so bad and dumb going for stupid shots over and over. My Polish friend Walter saw her interview the day before playing Cornet and Iga was actually downplaying her chances to win. He said after seeing her talk like that he knew she was not going to win and he did not even bother to watch the match, he thinks she was ordered to tank. Pegula is an awesome player now, for years she was ordinary now she’s elite. She was married earlier this year, yet the WTA never even mentioned it or celebrated it. Be they would if she married a woman, and they would have saluted her courage for it.

When Iga was a junior she was extremely erratic. It’s possible that’s now shown up again a few years on. Her psychologist was apparently not around in Cincy.

Pegula had some nice things to say about Emma – in particular how her serve has improved.

Catherine, Not buying that, Iga won 37 matches in a row, total dominance, at her career best, and then to suddenly start playing dumb stupid erratic tennis vs Cornet, it does not make any sense at all. My friend Walter’s theory makes far more sense. Now Iga outing the wta’s different balls adds credence to the theory. Iga may be getting Bartied.

Scoop – you know I don’t go for conspiracy theories, life’s hard enough, but if Swiatek was losing on purpose I’d like to think she’d put on a better show than that. She’s not a stupid person.

Interesting words from Emma re Cincy and a look back at USO 2021

Catherine, something is amiss now with Iga, not sure what it is exactly, something to keep an eye on. Something was obviously amiss with Ash Barty too. The wta site never even mentioned her book series or her recent marriage. I find that very very disrespectful. We are seeing clearly how the deep state is trying to cancel Djokovic, it’s very possible the wta deep state has similar agendas. I find it very hard to believe Barty left the sport on her own, she was dominant, winning everything, making millions, clearly very happy at all the tournaments and dealing with media and obligations. She was a fantastic ambassador for the sport, a fantastic inspiring champion. Not buying that she decided to leave the sport on her own.

What is @BillieJeanKing afraid of? We know she adores Novak. She wants him to be INCLUDED to play us open but she’s afraid to say it. Is it because the tennis deep state would squash her in a minute? #LetNovakPlay BJK has been intimidated into silence.
