Capriati Commentary On Paolini Winning Rome
9 Comments · Posted by Scoop Malinowski in Bios

Jasmine Paolini won Rome title with a dominant win vs. Coco Gauff. Former world no. 1 and Grand Slam champion Jennifer Capriati was impressed and shared her comments on Twitter.
“Breaking through at 28 with no prior results is that right? Two slam finals, winning a masters title on your home turf, in Italy as an Italian. That’s a tough task. Pretty cool. Late bloomer is an understatement! And winning the doubles as well? Wow.”
Although Capriati did not imply anything corrupt about Paolini’s surprising success at a later age, there is a slight hint of possible sarcasm in her word choices.
And with the double positive test of Jannik Sinner for using Clostebol which earned him a three month ban, astute tennis observers remain slightly skeptical and even suspicious that something underhanded could be going on in Italian tennis and the intriguing evolution into a tennis superpower after decades of mediocre results.

Sadly, the tennis world dismisses J-Cap as “burnout” or “crackhead” rather than deal with the reality that J-Cap sometimes exposes. They attack the messenger, because J-Cap’s message makes them uncomfortable. J-Cap like a stealth SWAT Team sniper who will wait in the weeds for years if necessary but when her opening comes, J-Cap will fire directly, with clear intent on the target and with complete confidence and impunity. J-Cap gives ZERO F–cks about the machine or the powers that be.

Lan, you notice how the tennis media completely excuses Serena’s worst moments but forever uses them against Capriati, ignoring her greatest moments and the positivity and inspiration of her comeback story which is one of the best in tennis history. Capriati shows more guts and makes more sense with one statement than some of the bozos on Tennis Channel have said in a decade. Tennis needs Capriati’s commentary. Wish she would be more active and involved. One tweet every six months is not enough from this legend.

Paolini has been playing for years and she fully deserved her win in Rome, on what is pretty much her favourite surface.
I can’t stand Capriati and her sarcasm and hinting at we know what. I never liked her much as a player TBH. And she could be pretty obnoxious as a 12 year old.
Italy is hardly a ‘superpower’. One superior male player and a 28 year old woman probably in her last season.

Can’t name any other players who suddenly emerged to being elite from journeywoman at age 28. This kind of progression is just not normal or natural. She could be getting peds. Capriati knows the sport inside and out more than we will ever understand. If she’s trying to send a message, you should be grateful. This is one of the most amazing tennis champions we ever saw. With Musetti, Sonego, Clostebol consumer, Paolini, Errani, Cina, Arnaldi, etc. I’d say Italy is on the verge of super power status. What nation now would you say is a tennis superpower?

Are you sure she was being sarcastic? Anyways by that simple logic The Stanimal was almost 29 years old when he suddenly won the Aussie. So you see, you can construct all kinds of theories about all kinds of players.

As far as nations having a run of great players the foundation is built before you hear of the players, obviouisly. Spain had their day recently. the French, the Americans, the Russians are always there and the Aussies etc.
Italy apparently now has an excellent system of small tournaments for juniors, great coaches that have adopted the best tecnniques from around the world. I imagine when you have a country producing great soccer players you can guide a few to pursue and fall in love with tennis. Sinner is different, he was an elite skier and you can see that in how gets out of the corners.
Please don’t try to tarnish Arnaldi. He’s one of my favs. IF so, bring some hard evidence.

I don’t think any particular country is a tennis ‘superpower’
at present. Unless Italy is going to offer Carlos citizenship.
If Capriati thinks Paolini is on PEDs why doesn’t she say so
outright ? Probably because she knows it’s not true.
Anyway, I imagine Jasmine will be subjected to all the testing known to man and in due course we will know the truth.

Not sure, she worded it very vaguely and cleverly. ) Well then by that measure, maybe Wawrinka is a suspect too, the face acne, the late age sudden sensational success… who knows for sure.

I did not tarnish Arnaldi or imply anything except he’s a top Italian player, doesn’t mean they are all suspects. Maybe some would do it clean. Canada was also a superpower candidate contender but they stalled. China was supposed to be a superpower but also stalled. A top coach told me Mexico has built a very good foundation, has a lot of money, talented juniors, talented coaches and could become a superpower soon.
