It’s not widely known that Hollywood icon Brad Pitt played high school tennis in Missouri (1977-81). The now 60 year old movie star has never been interviewed by the tennis media and except for his attendances at a US Open (Djokovic vs Medvedev) and Wimbledon final (Djokovic vs Alcaraz), the general public would not know Pitt is a tennis enthusiast.
But in a 1999 feature story in Rolling Stone, Pitt mentioned his tennis playing days and that he was not exactly as poised and stoic as Bjorn Borg or Pete Sampras…
Pitt revealed that his dad had the remedy to control his tennis temper.
Excerpt from article: “…He also offered his son advice that still resonates. Once when Brad was playing in a tennis tournament and screaming and throwing his racket, his father walked on the court between games. “He just said, ‘Are you having fun?’” says Pitt. “I got all huffy and said no. He looked at me and said, “Then don’t do it,’ and then walked away. Boy, that put me in my place. I should have gotten my ass kicked, but he was so above that…”
As I’ve shared here before, it’s been rumored that Pitt wants to be involved in the forthcoming biopic about Andre Agassi. Pitt has starred in such Hollywood blockbusters as Interview With A Vampire, Meet Joe Black, Fight Club, Oceans Eleven, A River Runs Through It, Moneyball, Troy.

It has come to my attention that Pitt has played tennis with fellow actor Javier Bardem, but no details yet.
