Boxing great Andre Ward, three days away from his world title challenge of Light Heavyweight champion Sergey “Krusher” Kovalev, said he recently met Serena Williams and even admitted of being “intimidated” by her larger than life aura.

“Honestly, I was intimidated by her,” a smiling Ward said. “She has this – something, this air, this presence. Don’t get me wrong; she was very nice, very polite and I was really happy to get to meet her. It’s just, she has that thing; it’s hard to describe. I wasn’t feeling anything unusual right before I met her, but I looked up and… wow.”

The undefeated Ward who has not lost a boxing match since he was a teenager, is the former undisputed 168 pound and Olympic champion who will face the hard punching Russian at 175 pounds in a much anticipated super fight this weekend in Las Vegas (to be televised by HBO pay per view).

This Russian guy looks menacing. Who’s going to win?

Dan: Kovalev has been destroying tough fighters – Ward has not lost since age 13 but has been unimpressive for the last four years and he is moved up to a higher weight class (175) than from the class he was at his best (168) – Ward was slow to accept this fight- Floyd mayweather strongly urged Ward to duck this fight with Kovalev – my pick based on all this info is Kovalev by KO – Kovalev is usually restrained with his words but yesterday he said he will knockdown Ward several times and then knock him out –

Yeah, I saw the HBO Special on the lead-up to this fight and Kovalev looked real menacing. I guess it’s the classic matchup of the mauler vs. the boxer. I’m interested in it, but I probably won’t fork up dough to watch it.

Now who’s the better fighter, the Ukranian guy who’s undefeated, Genady something or Kovalev? What weight class does Genady fight at?
