Most Painful Moment: Â “Sometime when I have to go and have to leave my family at home. And I have to travel like one month, two months. It’s very tough.”

Why Do You Love Playing Tennis: Â “It’s a really nice sport. I’m not sitting in an office. I have the chance to be traveling around the world. Meet new places, new countries. It’s beautiful.”
Funniest Players Encountered: “One of the funniest players is (Gael) Monfils.”
Strangest Match: Â “I remember one match I was leading 3-2 in the first set. We just started. And my opponent said something bad to the umpire and he got disqualified so I won [smiles]. It was at a Challenger.”
Funny Tennis Memory: Â “We do a lot of jokes when we are in Davis Cup. Whenever we are playing Davis Cup we are like every day we do different jokes. For example, I put like sticky thing on the captain’s grip. And then he couldn’t get his hand off the racquet [smiles]. (Who was the victim? Daniel Orsanic, the current captain?) The former captain Martin Jaite.”

So many threads open – I’ll post here.
For any Fed Cup followers it’s Gp 11 GB v Romania starting Saturday – could be close. Simona v Heather Watson and then v Konta. Laura Robson in doubles. Interesting just to see form of Halep/Konta
And of course US v Czech. No idea about that. There’s very little publicity as usual and I don’t know if any is shown live.

Czech is sending over their B squad and its expected USA will roll through that tie easily – I know one person who has tickets and is trying to sell at face value but I don’t know anyone who would even drive up to Saddlebrook (over an hour north of Bradenton) with the Sarasota Open challenger happening here now – Looking forward to that Halep vs Konta second clash in the last several weeks –
